Mitsubishi Electric Automotive Wins General Motors Supplier of the Year Award

Plymouth, Michigan, August 2, 2001—General Motors has awarded Mitsubishi Electric Automotive America (MEAA) its "Supplier of the Year" award for 2000. MEAA was one of only 165 suppliers to win the award from a pool of almost 30,000 suppliers worldwide, and one of only a few to have received the award in both its first and second years as a GM supplier. Winners must meet the highest standards for quality, service, technology and price (QSTP).

"Mitsubishi Electric represents the best of the best and it has set an example during the past year for other companies to follow," says Bo Andersson, executive in charge, GM Worldwide Purchasing. "It is a role model and it is an honor to work with a company so committed to supporting our priorities for quality, launch and a balance between current and future business."

MEAA Executive Vice President and Group President, Mickey Kurisaki says, "MEAA is exceptionally proud to have received GM’s ‘Supplier of the Year’ award both for 1999 and 2000. The commitment of the entire MEAA team is demonstrated by the receipt of this award and the new GM ignition module contracts."
