SUNNYVALE, Calif. — June 13, 2002 — The Electronic Device Group of Mitsubishi Electric & Electronics USA, Inc., announced today that Mitsubishi Electric Corporation’s worldwide semiconductor operations received Solectron Corporation’s "Preferred Supplier Award." Mitsubishi Electric was one of only seven suppliers honored with the award at Solectron’s Supplier Day 2002 ceremony in Shanghai, and is the first Japanese supplier to receive the award.

"Mitsubishi has consistently demonstrated their commitment to deliver outstanding support to Solectron and our customers. Mitsubishi Electric received the award for providing Solectron and its customers with a competitive advantage through consistently high performance and by scoring more than 85 points out of a 100-point scale on Solectron’s supplier scorecard over two consecutive quarters. The company participates in Solectron’s global supplier performance management program, which includes an objective, data-driven evaluation against such criteria as price competitiveness, delivery, quality, supply-chain integration and technology.

Mitsubishi Electric has established global management teams dedicated to creating supply chain and customer service programs for meeting the global needs of its electronics manufacturing service (EMS) customers both quickly and responsively.
